Tatted Love (book review)
Tatted Love was written by Kathryn Jacob. This book tour has been organized by N K Author Services. I was provided with a copy in exchange for my honest book review. All opinions are my own.
About the book:
Lexi Starr is an 18 year old college student with a simple life, excellent grades, and a sweet boyfriend. She always has things planned out ahead of time, until she meets a rude boy named Derek, with too many tattoos and piercings who shatters her plans.
First... I have to get this out of the way... I wish the cover was different... to reflect Lexi (who wasn't tattooed.... and was more of a "goodie goodie") and Derek. And... the book needs some serious editing (even just for grammar and spelling). But.... the story was a good one. Really relatable.
While I didn't have anything similar to Lexi happen to me involving a tattooed bad-boy when I went off to college (unfortunately) I did find that the story brought back a lot of memories about heading off to my freshman year. I vividly remember my parents dropping me off and crying my eyes out as it sunk in that I had gone off to college without knowing another single person. I spent weeks and weeks trying to find my place... trying to connect with new friends... having mad crushes on all of the new boys. It was such a huge struggle to go from the control of home and parents... to suddenly be in charge of your schedule, your routine, your meals.
The story and writing had a truly "real" feel to it. Lexi struggled with wanting to still be the "good girl" but also wanting to experience new things. Having (and liking) her new roommate (with her blue hair and tattoos) wasn't quite what she expected. Neither were her wild bunch of friends and frat parties. And Derek being rude then friendly, sarcastic then kind, dismissive and then caring.... really blew her mind. Could anyone really blame her for getting swept up?
About the author:
Kathryn Jacob was born and raised it Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before getting into writing she showed the All American Quarter horses around the world. Kathryn has won many prizes. After she sold her sat horse in August 2013, she decided to start writing. Who knew that it would take her a year to release Mated to the Alpha. This is a huge accomplishment for a 19 year old give and to this day she will continue to write.
