Primal (book review)

PT banner Primal was written by Sasha White.  The book tour was organized by N K Author Services.  I was provided with a copy in exchange for my honest review.  All opinions are my own.

About the book:

SashaWhite_Prima_600x900 BDSM club owner Adam Kessler is no one’s hero. He joined the army to get away from the gang-life that had taken his brother, only to come home to heartache. He doesn’t hide his dominant side, and he doesn’t hesitate in his need to protect or enforce his particular brand of retribution on those who’ve earned it. There’s no way in hell he could walk past a man hassling a woman in an empty parking lot and do nothing. Only when the confrontation is over and the voluptuous blonde turns eyes filled with desire to him, does Adam realize he’s in trouble.

Psychologist Olivia Lang grew up with the proverbial silver spoon, and has never regretted spending more time on her career than on romance, until she meets Adam Kessler. He’s rough, tough, and ten years her junior…and she wants him.

Passion burns quick and hot between them and soon they’re caught up in an intensely carnal relationship that neither can deny. But when Olivia’s life is threatened and Adam shows her just how dangerous he can be, will it be too much for the civilized psychologist to handle, or will she truly accept the man and win her hero’s heart?

My review:

I don't suppose saying "Thank God this is the first book in a series" would be enough of a review? I'm sitting here trying to figure out exactly why that's the first thought I have when giving my opinion about the book.  I mean... there is the usual... Adam and Olivia are great fully developed characters.  But I think beyond that it's the fact that the two are so similar while being so different.

What I love about Adam most has got to be the fact that he has this quality ingrained in him to provide protection and safety to those in need.  Through the story you really learn so much about why that is.  The author really does a great job of consistently steaming that through the novel.  Like... Adam explaining his reason for naming his club Overwatch.  Just perfect details.

And if Sasha White happens to read this... Please. Please. Please. Let the next book be about Simon.  Please.  Or Jazzy.  It could be about Jazzy.  But... no.  Simon first.
