Pocono Skiing at Jack Frost Mountain

We were invited to join the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau for a winter media FAM tour.  We were given an opportunity to ski, snowboard and snow tube at Jack Frost Mountain ski area and stay at Split Rock Resort & Golf Club, in exchange for our honest review.  You can find more information about Jack Frost Ski Mountain on their website. Less than 10 minutes away from Split Rock Resort is the Jack Frost skiing area. This was the first time we skied there. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the skiing at Jack Frost was. The rentals area was especially competent. Even though the place was packed, they really knew how to get the rentals out the door. I've never seen such a logistically brilliant setup.

As a ski area, there are trails of various difficulties and an entire section for intermediate / advanced skiers with their own lifts. This made it possible for the advanced skiers to get ton of skiing in as their lines weren't that long. Highly recommended and a surprise. We all loved the skiing there, and it was made better by the great weather. The only downside is that they do not offer night skiing.

They now have a great snow tubing section. It looked fun, but we didn't have time to check that out. For many in New Jersey, Jack Frost is too far, but in reality it’s only 10-20 minutes longer to get there than the more popular skiing destinations. It this case, I would recommend driving the extra distance. Their prices are competitive too.
