Let's get the ball rolling on laundry...
*I was provided with a Downy Ball in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own. Laundry? It's not my favorite thing. Although I DO love freshly folded laundry from the dryer. I just wish there was some magic button... or that I had a robot (like Rosie on The Jetsons) to perfectly fold it. Well... sort it, wash it, dry it, fold it, put it away. I suppose I just have to keep doing laundry.
While I'm not getting my magic laundry button... I do keep on the lookout for things that make doing laundry easier. Like when Tide released their PODS? I was all over those. And when Bounce released their dryer bars that just stuck in your dryer for 3 months? I was in laundry heaven. (They discontinued them. My laundry heart is broken.) So... when I was e-mailed to ask if I'd like to try out a Downy Ball... I was thrilled at the re-introduction.
I haven't been using Downy in my washing machine lately. I have a machine without the little automatic dispenser compartment (who designed this machine???). I had a Downy Ball ages ago (like college ages ago) and stopped using it with our (now gone) front loading washer. I forgot about them... so I was really happy when my new Downy Ball showed up in the mail.
Make softness simpler with the Downy Ball—the easier and more convenient way to add fabric softener to your wash. Just pour your favorite Downy fabric softener into the ball, seal it, and drop it in. The ball then automatically releases fabric softener during the rinse cycle.
Could it BE any easier? I couldn't resist buying matching Downy softener and dryer sheets (they have all of these fancy scents now... although I still love Downy original).
Well... I'll be honest. It could work a little easier. A little better. It's not recommended for HE machines. Mainly (I believe) because of the way the machine works. And... I have an HE machine, again... without the little automatic dispenser compartment (seriously, who designed this machine???). So I CAN use the Downy Ball... but it doesn't always open since it needs to be in the bottom at the rinse cycle, and the water needs to fill a certain way so it opens the magical ball to release the Downy. So... it worked much better for me years ago when I had a non HE machine. (Oh, and I stopped using the Downy Ball then because we got a front loader... and the ball absolutely doesn't work in front load machines.) But I keep trying. I've found the worst that happens is it just doesn't open. Then that load misses out on being softer and smelling prettier. (It gets jealous of the softer, prettier loads.) Hopefully Downy will figure out how to make a ball that works in HE machines every time.
Now... can someone get to work on that magic button for me? Or at least remind me I put laundry in and it has to be swapped to the dryer?
