Halloween 2013 Wishes
I've spent the last week with my fingers crossed and, frequently, have been looking towards the sky making silent prayers and wishes. If you're in NJ you've probably been doing some of the same. Halloween hasn't been too nice for us in the last couple of years. So... my wishes have been... PLEASE don't let there be a hurricane. PLEASE don't let there be an ice storm. PLEASE give us clear skies. PLEASE keep the rain clouds away. PLEASE let us actually have Halloween on Halloween this year (although I did kind of like it on a postponed Saturday last year). PLEASE let us trick-or-treat. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. As I'm writing this... and putting my hopes and wishes for Halloween out there... I'm looking at this photo of Zoe and Ana all dressed up and ready to head off to their school celebrations. I can't help but laugh. Their costumes are rather ironic.... which I know will be lost on a lot of people. (Don't lie... I know some of you are looking at them going "Oh... how cute they are! But, who are they supposed to be?") For those of you who have no clue who they are... or are just lost on how I'm finding them slightly ironic... let me briefly explain. Zoe and Ana are dressed as Fiona and Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time. Adventure time is a cartoon set in the Land of Ooo... which is actually a Post-Apocalyptic Earth (and it includes a land called Candy Kingdom). So, please forgive me... but NJ at Halloween has certainly seemed rather post-apocalyptic for the past couple years. (Think Treemageddon and Hurricane Sandy.) Now that it looks like (fingers crossed) we're actually going to have rather nice fall weather today... Zoe and Ana are dress and ready for an apocalypse. Ironic, no? PLEASE send your wishes for a Happy (non-apocalyptic) Halloween our way! Happy Halloween to all of you!!!
