Farm to Feast: Mother's Day Edition
I hope that none of you are cooking this Mother's Day unless you want to! So, I am featuring a few drink recipes (both alcoholic and non) for your enjoyment this Mother's Day or anytime!
Mint Iced Tea
I love the taste of fresh iced tea, but it can be boring without a little something extra. I think fresh mint is fantastic to brighten it up (plus, you can use the extra for mojitos ;))
8 bags of decaf green tea
12 mint leaves, rinsed and dried
1/4 cup cane sugar
32 ounces water
Boil the water. Remove the tags from the tea bags and clean off the mint. In a large pitcher, add the sugar, tea bags, and mint. Pour the water over and let steep on the counter for 10-15 minutes. Remove tea bags and enjoy over ice!
Grapefruit Rosé Spritzer
Even though THIS Mother's Day seems to be a wet, yucky day, we still think a spring cocktail is in order. I love the combination of rosé and grapefruit here.
6 ounces Rosé, such as Coté Mas
1 ounce grapefruit liqueur (I really like Giffard Créme de Pamplemousse Rosé Liqueur)
In a wine glass, drop in sliced strawberries, and a hand full of ice cubes. Add the liqueur, then the rosé. Top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a grapefruit slice!
