A Beautiful Kind of Love (book review)
About the book:
I believe in soul mates. Why? Because I have one and his name is Jax Porter.
I have known Jax my whole life and I have loved him with every breath I’ve ever taken. The fact that we were born a mere month apart to mothers that are best friends has made us inseparable since birth.
What we have is so rare, one would think our story would be written, our fate sealed. But, unfortunately that’s not how life works. Life offers us many choices that can turn destiny into chance.
I now find myself heading toward a destination that I could have never imagined and I have to figure out where to go from here.
Will the choices that have been made change our path forever or will fate find its way?
What a complete roller coaster of a book! It really was a little of everything. Sweet, happy, funny, sad... it had me nostalgic about my first love. That first love is just so intense... especially when it's with a person who was your best friend first. This book had all the feelings. I felt the giddiness and the thrill of Jax & Lily's first kiss. I felt the sadness and tears when they were apart. I felt the joy and excitement when they were back together again. I had moments where my heart felt so full.... and then I had moments where my heart just felt empty. I even felt physically ill a couple of times. Oh relationships and love. It's so fabulous.... and so hard.
I thought the author did an amazing job. Seriously.... "all the feels. I had them." Jax and Lily really had a beautiful love. An all encompassing love. A devastating love. It's so hard to explain my feelings while not spoiling what happens between them. I refuse to spoil.
I have to add... on a technical writing note... I LOVED how the book was mainly written from Lily's point of view... except the few brief chapters/excerpts that were told by Jax. The things that were in his head, that made you understand where he was coming from. Just the perfect amount of insight.
While the story could be finished... I'm actually really excited that there is another book coming (A Forever Kind of Love is due out soon) . I can only imagine what would happen next between Jax & Lily.
