Come on down for the final summer concert! Rosewood Band will be jamming on Green Village Road one last time this season. Bring a picnic, a chair or blanket and get into the groove.
Explore the Hudson River Estuary
Saturday, September 8th, 9-11 am
Liberty State Park
Join us for a hands-on exploration of our estuary, and come try your hand at dragging a seine net. You never know what you may find in and around the waters of the Hudson. Waders will be provided.
Please dress to be outdoors and wear old shoes that can get wet and muddy. If it is a hot day, sunscreen and water are also recommended. We will meet at the Park Office located at 200 Morris Pesin Drive and then drive over to the beach. You will need your own vehicle to get there. This program is appropriate for adults and families with children ages 5 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.Pre-registration is required.

Get outside, and get growing! Learn how to plant, tend to, and harvest your own garden, cook and taste the fruit of your labor, enjoy creative projects, and so much more. Discover the importance of growing and eating healthy food, all while having fun! This hands-on gardening program is sponsored by Whole Foods Market.

Grandparent's Day Family Train Ride
Sunday, September 9th, various times
Whippany Rail Museum
Climb aboard the Whippany Railway Museum's Excursion Train and take a ride into the past. The 10-mile round trip ride travels the route of the historic Whippanong Trail through Whippany, East Hanover, Livingston and Roseland in Morris and Essex Counties. The trains depart at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
The trains feature a unique collection of restored, vintage cabooses from historic rail lines that once served New Jersey and the Metropolitan area. Passengers can climb aboard the caboose of their choice and experience an old-fashioned, pleasant day. A club, built in 1927, car has the look and feel of a private club with individual leather chairs, mahogany interior accented with stained glass, built-in tables and period ceiling fans.
