There is so much going on both inside and out. Some of these events may not be right in our backyard, but they are definitely worth the trip!
Matilda the Musical

June 13th - 16th - various times
Christ Church, Rockaway
This community event features live entertainment, fair food, midway games and rides. Spectacular rides include the Dream-catcher, classics like the Ferris Wheel and kiddie rides. Plus, enjoy games, fair foods such as ice cream, handmade zeppoles, fried Oreo’s, po’boy sandwiches, sausage and peppers and delicious homemade lemonade.
Free family entertainment includes family friendly music, a spectacular fireworks show (Friday), a complimentary live musical showcase where local bands will display their talents and entertain fair-goers an old time car show, an illusionist performance and monster Ttruck rides. Fair hours are:

Build an Automaton!
Sunday, June 16th - 12:30 pm
Join the Guinness Collection staff at a maker's workshop where each child will receive one automaton kit to assemble, decorate, and then bring home.
For children ages 5 and up. Advance registration is required.

Father’s Day Train Ride
Whippany Rail Museum
Sunday, June 16th - various times
All aboard with Dad, and take a ride through the past on Whippany Railroad Museum's Excursion Train. The trains feature restored vintage cabooses and make a 45 minute round-trip along the countryside.
The train departs 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm
Liberty State Park
Wednesday, June 19th - 10 am
Come on out to Liberty State Park, and get up close and personal with the monarch butterfly. Participants will learn all about the life cycle, feeding habits, and migration journey of this amazing little insect.
There will also be a story and a craft to make and take home.
The program will begin in the picnic area located at 200 Morris Pesin Drive, Jersey City, NJ 07305. Please be sure to dress to be outdoors, and if it is a hot day, sunscreen and water are recommended.
This program is recommended for ages 4 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Groups of six or more, please call for special arrangements.
