The summer swelter seems to have passed, so we’ve found some fun family fun for you and yours this week, both inside and OUT!
Summer Shorebird Walk
Liberty State Park
Friday, July 26th - 10 am
Come on out to Liberty State Park and search for a variety of summer shorebirds. Please dress to be outside and bring binoculars if you have them.
There are a limited number that can be borrowed. Meet at the Park Office located at 200 Morris Pesin Drive, and the walk will begin from there. If it is a hot day, sunscreen and water are recommended.

6th Annual Food Truck Seafood Festival
Saturday, July 27th - 6 pm
Indulge in seafood and other treats at this 6th annual festival. On tap are food trucks that serve surf & turf, barbecue, tacos, burgers and more.
Dine while watching eliminations for the Hambletonian Oaks.

Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival
Every Tuesday though August 27th - 7-9 pm
Enjoy a night out in town with free music as you stroll, eat and relax at outdoor venues around town featuring live musicians. Talented jazz groups will play and entertain each Tuesday evening through August with Wednesday rain dates.
Bands will play at various locations - on Central Avenue in front of Banana Republic, the lawn in front of the North Avenue Train Station, Elm Street in front of the Baptist Church, and in Foundation Park across the street from 439 South Ave. W. (near the corner of South Ave W. and Westfield Ave.).

Sweet Treats Glass Blowing Tour
Museum of Early Trades & Crafts
Friday, July 26th - 11 am - 12 pm
Morris County School of Glass and the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts are collaborating on a unique project! Experience the ancient craft of glassblowing and learn to harness molten glass into a one-of-a-kind, colorful and useful Dessert Bowl at MCSOG. Pick up your bowl at METC on the following Friday, and reserve a curator-led tour of the new Main Gallery exhibit, Sweet Treats: Desserts & Delicacies from the Garden State on one of the days below. The exhibit will feature the rich desserts, delicacies, and culinary traditions that find their roots here in the Garden State. And remember… everything tastes sweeter in a bowl made by you!
