Summer Shore Bird Walk

Liberty State Park

Friday, July 12th - 10 am - 12 pm

Come on out to Liberty State Park, and search for a variety of summer shorebirds. Please dress to be outside and bring binoculars if you have them.

There are a limited number that can be borrowed. If it is a hot day, sunscreen and water are recommended.

Ice’d Cream Family Fun Day

Museum of Early Trades & Crafts

Saturday, July 13th - 1 - 4 pm

Join METC on our front lawn for a FREE day of family fun focused on all things sweet! As part of the fun, we will be joined by historian Deborah Peterson demonstrating how to make colonial “ice’d creams.” Visitors will have a chance to sample both colonial and modern flavors with sweet frozen treats from Rita’s Italian Ice of Berkeley Heights and Main Freeze of Madison, and also enjoy refreshments provided by Kings Food Market and Simple Coffee . Family friendly entertainment for the day is provided by the performers of Step Right Up and the band, Cracked Walnuts. Lots of games and activities will be happening all day too, so make sure to stop by for some summer fun! Registration recommended as supplies are limited. Click here to register!

Maplewoodstock

Saturday, July 13th & Sunday, July 14th - Noon

Maplewoodstock is a two day festival featuring local and national music and arts in Memorial Park. The whole family is invited to enjoy food and arts vendors, a Kid Zone area, and regional and national music acts.

Bring a blanket or chairs and relax to the tunes or bring the kids over to the Kid Zone, which features bouncy rides, face painting, arts & crafts and ice cream.

Nate Robinson Celebrity Kickball Game

Yogi Berra Stadium, Montclair

Saturday, July 13th - 12:30 pm

Come out to Yogi Berra Stadium for the Nate Robinson Celebrity Kickball Game.

The three-time NBA Slam Dunk Champion, Nate Robinson, his friends including David Hawkins, Carlos Arroyo, Larry Sanders, Anthony Morrow, Rashad Lewis, Amar'e Stoudemire, Will Bynum, Jermaine O'Neal, and other special guests will take the field for an exciting kickball and dodge ball game. 

The first-annual event will also include unique family activities and much more.

Gates open at 12:30 pm, the dodge ball game starts at 2 pm, and the kickball game takes place at 3 pm.

Proceeds will benefit the Father English Community Center and much more. Tickets are available online and at the Yogi Berra Stadium box office. 

Tickets $25 - 50; VIP packages available as well.

Zoo-Vies at Turtle Back Zoo

Wednesdays in July & August - various times

Turtleback Zoo presents free screenings from the top deck of the zoo's parking garage. Enjoy sunset, a great view, and a fun film all in one evening. Bring your own lawn chair and snacks or buy munchies from a concession. Films begin at dusk and are weather-dependent.

The garage is outside zoo grounds and film-goers do not need to pay zoo admission.
