Block Party at LSC
Saturday, February 11 & Sunday, February 12 from 9 am - 5:30 pm
Step out of the cold and into the Liberty Science Center for a visit to Blue Block Park. Creative kids and make giant castles, cars or other masterpieces with big foam and wooden pieces that look a bit like oversize Tinker Toys.
This new play space is free with museum admission.

Love is in the air at the Museum! Tour our new exhibit, “Garden State” and make a Valentine’s Day craft to take home to your friends and family.
Maple Sugaring Demo @ The Great Swamp
Saturday, February 11 @ 1pm (Also every Saturday & Sunday through February 26)
Families can learn about the process of maple sugaring from start to finish. Kids and their parents will learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Afterward, taste-test different delicious syrups, including syrup made at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center. No registration is required but seating is first come, first served basis.
Demonstrations Times: 1:00pm - 2:00pm and again 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Children’s Workshop: Superhero Green Screen Filmmaking
Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue, Montclair
Sunday, February 12, 12 pm - 2:30 pm
Kids ages 8 - 12
Aspiring actors and actresses can spend the day as a superhero while learning how to create Hollywood-style visual effects. Students will perform action scenes in front of a green screen and composite superhero motion graphics with Adobe Suite editing software. They'll also get to take their film home in stunning high-definition so they can share their adventure with family and friends.
