Where has the time gone?
This past month has been a crazy whirlwind for me. It's my own fault... volunteering for jobs that all overlap with the majority of the work coming to a close at the end of May and beginning of June. While it does make me (and Nick) a little crazy, and I occasionally drop a ball (no one died when we missed that softball game) I really do love my chaos. It keeps me active. Involved. It all revolves around the girls and school... and squeezing in get-togethers with family & friends and fun blog events. So while I may have lost a few marbles a couple of times (and have definitely fallen WAY behind on blogging)... I'm pretty satisfied and proud of the things I've done in the last month. But... what happened to the last month? How did it get to be the middle of June?? Forget about this last month... what happened to the last 9 months??? This school year seems to have flown by a whole lot quicker than the last 4. But then again.... how is it possible that Zoe just finished 4th grade??? And wasn't Ana just born? How is she done with 1st grade? Zoe is going to be 10 years old in less than 2 weeks. And less than 2 weeks after that, Ana will be 7. The older the girls (and I) get... the busier we are... the faster time seems to go.
I'm choosing to pretend that these pictures don't show any changes. It's all a trick of the seasonal light differences.
Oh... who am I kidding? Yes, there's the difference in the slight squinting summer sunshine eyes... but there's also an obvious maturity difference between the first day of school and the last. It's not just personality... it's visual. And the pictures may not show it... but I swear these girls grew inches overnight (all in their legs!!!).
Now that the school year (and *most* of my volunteering) has come to a close, I'm truly hoping to spend more time here writing and sharing. I have so many writing projects that have just been on hold because life takes precedence over blogging.
Oh... who am I kidding? Our summer calendar is jam-packed full. I'll be juggling for the next 2 months and while I will LOVE the family time and summer sun... it's going to go by in a flash.
I'll try my best though!
