Things are "Practically Perfect" as MJS kids prep for this weekend's production of Mary Poppins
"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's good luck to shake hands with a chimney sweep?"
So says Burt the chimney sweep just as something that's very good luck happens to the hand shaker, Michael Banks.
The exchange comes just before the iconic song "Lets Go Fly a Kite" in the musical Mary Poppins, Jr, which kicks off
Friday, March 2 at 7:30 pm.
The production is directed by Kiera Chiarino with assistant director Monica Brady. About 50 students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade comprise the cast and crew.
There is good luck (and a bit of stage magic) in the air at the MJS auditorium. Dress rehearsals this week were a flurry of activity. Sets are done, costumes and props are taking shape, and the kids have long ago mastered their English accents.
Performances will be at the Madison Junior School Auditorium, 160 Main Street in Madison, NJ. They are scheduled for
Friday, March 2 at 7:30 pm
Saturday, March 3 at 4pm.
In case of inclement weather, a snow date is scheduled for
Sunday, March 4 at 2pm.
Tickets are available at the door or online at
