Switched (book review)
Written by Amanda Hocking.
Switched is Book 1 of the Trylle Trilogy. After reading the first couple of chapters of Switched I immediately downloaded books 2 and 3. (I'm actually 1/2 way through book 2, which I just started this morning.)
Amazingly... this story is not about fairies or vampires. Can you imagine? A paranormal romance NOT involving vampires or fairies????
From Amanda Hocking's blog:
When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.
With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.
I hate to write anything for fear of spoiling the story. It's very face paced. Full of action and emotion... and definite young adult romance. In the way that (many) other recent books have made you think about vampires in a different way... this series has you rethink things.
Amanda Hocking is quickly becoming one of my favorite young adult authors. She has another series (I have to add to my must read list) about vampires (of course). And... so you know... she has written a paranormal romance with zombies. Zombie romance people. I'm feeling the need to point a couple of bloggers in her direction.
