Madison Music & Arts (MMA) welcomes you to join us for a night of “The Magical World of Music” at the 26th Anniversary Dessert and Jazz Fundraiser on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 6:30 pm at Madison High School, 170 Ridgedale Avenue. The event features jazz ensembles from Madison Junior School and Madison High School, along with individual performances.

In keeping with tradition, Dessert and Jazz begins at 6:30 pm with dessert and beverages held in the high school cafeteria. Student musicians from Madison High School will entertain guests as they enjoy delicious homemade desserts.

This event is typically sold out, so seating has been revamped to increase the number of people who can attend. But it’s still a good idea to reserve your seats well in advance.

"Dessert and Jazz has enjoyed great community support over the years. We have a large group of over 60 volunteer bakers who make the desserts from scratch, and student servers who support the talented performers that evening,” said Helen Raymaker, President of Madison Music & Arts. “I love this celebration of the arts in Madison schools."

“From solo jazz singers to a rhythm and blues band, the cabaret portion of the evening is both entertaining and delicious, given that dessert is also provided!” added Stacy Snider, Madison Schools Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts and World Languages.

Following dessert, the festivities continue in the auditorium with a jazz concert featuring the Madison High School and Madison Junior School jazz ensembles.

MMA fundraising efforts have benefited music, art and theater programs throughout the district. Recent contributions by MMA include a startup grant for a choreographer for the MJS musical, subsidizing a portion of the cost for the spring MHS Disney Trip in which members of the school’s band, orchestra and choruses will be traveling to Disney to perform and take part in workshops and providing a stipend for the MHS Art Club.

Tickets are $20 per person for the entire evening of entertainment. Advance reservations strongly advised and can be made at www.madisonpublicschools.org/mma. For more information, please e-mail madisonmusicarts@gmail.com.
