It's back-to-school time, and the weather is particularly fall-like this week, making outdoor fairs and festivals a must this week!
St Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church

Enjoy the foods and sounds of Greece at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church’s 40th Annual Greek Festival. Guests can indulge in homemade, authentic Greek food including moussaka, pastitsio, roasted leg of lamb, Youvetsi, chicken riganati, souvlaki and gyro. Chow down while enjoying the sounds of Greece with live music and authentic Folk dancing, featuring dance groups of all ages. Greek folk dancing lessons will be offered throughout the festival. In addition, get ready to shop for a variety of imported goods, jewelry, vases and many other articles from Greece. Additional vendors will be selling hand-made copper and silver work, oil paintings, jewelry, and other items.
The festival features fun rides and games for the kids. No pets allowed, except service animals.

Festival hours are as follows: Thursday, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 5:00 p.m. - midnight Saturday, 12:00 p.m. - midnight Sunday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Downtown Concert Series @ METC
Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, Madison

Enjoy the final free, family-friendly outdoor concert on the lawn of the museumwith Reeds Rhythm and All That Brass. Bring a blanket or chair and sit back and relax with a pleasant evening of music. Picnicking welcome.

Grandparent's Day Excursion Train Ride
Whippany Rail Museum

Climb aboard the Whippany Railway Museum's Excursion Train and take a ride Into the past. The 10-mile round trip ride travels the route of the historic Whippanong Trail through Whippany, East Hanover, Livingston and Roseland in Morris and Essex Counties.
Trains feature a unique collection of restored, vintage cabooses from historic rail lines that once served New Jersey and the Metropolitan area. Passengers can climb aboard the caboose of their choice and experience an old-fashioned, pleasant day. A club, built in 1927, car has the look and feel of a private club with individual leather chairs, mahogany interior accented with stained glass, built-in tables and period ceiling fans.

- Caboose Seating - Free for kids 1 & under, $9 for kids under 12, $14 for adults
- Club Car Seating - Free for kids 1 & under, $12 for kids under 12, $17 for adults
Trains depart at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Purchase tickets in advance online.
Chatham Fine Arts & Crafts Fair
Sunday, September 10, 10 am - 5 pm
This event will feature a "specialty foods" section, demonstrations from some of teh artisans, a free hazz concert, great food from the many gourmet food vendors, over 125 exhibitors selling their creations and a free, hands-on craft section for the kids.
