There are many times of year that I love living in Madison. Halloween in town is certainly one of those times. Check out all the fun activites and events planned for this weekend!

Pumpkin Illumination

Friday, October 27 @ 6 pm

Hartley Dodge Memorial Building

The Madison Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Development Commission and the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corp invite you to an evening of Spooky fun for the entire family on Friday, October 27 from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins to the front steps of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Bldg. where they will be displayed and illuminated at 6:45pm. Battery operated candles will be provided for illumination. Pumpkins will be returned to their owners after the event.

Trunk or Treat

Friday, October 27

In addition to the Pumpkin Illumination, the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps. invites everyone to their second Annual Trunk or Treat to take place in front of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Bldg., 50 Main Street.

Participants are encouraged to decorate the inside of their car trunks in a creative theme and allow children dressed in costume to trick or treat from trunk to trunk. Please note parents are responsible for checking all candy for children with allergies.

To enter your car in the Trunk or Treat please contact Diane Fastiggi at dianefastiggi@gmail.com.

Admission will be $10 per car. Walk-in trick or treaters are asked to make a minimum donation of $2.00 per person. All proceeds from the Trunk or Treat event will benefit the Madison Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Halloween Parade & Magic Show

Saturday, October 28 @ 12:30 pm

The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce 2017 Halloween Parade & Magic Show is scheduled for Saturday, October 28 and is sponored by Sugar Rush, 10 Waverly Place and Woodland Bakery & Cafe, 650 Shunpike Rd., Chatham Township.

Children and their parents are invited to attend a Halloween costume parade followed by a magic show and trick-or-treating in the downtown business area. Trick or Treating will not be permitted before the end of the magic show.

The schedule of events is as follows: 12:30pm: The Annual Halloween Parade will start promptly in front of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Bldg., 50 Kings Rd. Participants will march to Green Village Rd. to Main St. and finish on Waverly Pl. and Lincoln Pl.

1:00-1:30pm: The Joe Fischer Magic Show will be held on the corner of Lincoln Pl. and Waverly Pl. In case of rain, the show will be held inside the gym at Central Avenue School, 50 Central Ave.

1:30-3:00pm: Children in costume are invited to trick-or-treat through the downtown business district. Participating stores will display a bright orange and black jack-o'-lantern in their windows. Madison PhotoPlus, 40 Main St. has generously offered to take a free photo of each child in their costume. Details will be available at Madison PhotoPlus the day of the event.

Museum of Early Trades & Crafts

Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for ghoulish fun playing games, making crafts, nibbling on treats, and enjoying some Halloween-themed storytelling. Costumes are encouraged.

Hotel Transylvania FREE Movie Screening

Grab the kiddos and head on over to Mayo for this FREE screening of Hotel Transylvanoa. The only thing scarier than being a monster is babysitting one. Dracula teaches his half-human grandson how to be a vampire with the help of his fellow ghouls, but their efforts are complicated by the arrival of Dracula's dad, a traditionalist vampire named Vlad.
