33rd Annual Harvest Festival in Chester

Saturday, October 15 & Sunday, October 16

Antique cars, colonial musketeers, pumpkin painting, wood-carving demonstration, NBC Celebrity-Produce Pete apple press demonstrations. Sample culinary delights from Morris County’s favorite restaurants and eateries. Sunday: Cooper Grismill will be demonstrating apple cider making on Main Street near the Stained Glass Boutique, 76 E. Main Street

11 am -5 pm, Chili Cook Off 12 pm-3 pm

Use the hand-cranked cider press to make apple cider as it was done in historic 1880s Milltown, now known as Chester. View a unique display of apple-head dolls and use an old-fashioned apple peeler to make one for yourself.

Whippany River History Hike/Walk in Morristown

Sunday, October 16

Two-hour, 2-mile interpretive hike along the Patriots’ Path, from Acorn Hall to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, and back. The hike highlights four distinct cultural and natural history features of the Whippany River Watershed. Enjoy light refreshments, and the WRWAC’s documentary film, “A River’s Journey.”
